I really didn't get to celebrate today  I played music from 2:30 to 9:00 today. I didn't get to see any fireworks today. I still observed the holiday for what it is. I worked my ass off today.

I just got back from "Summer Thunder" at Delgrosso's Park in Tipton.

While "Summer Thunder" is always an impressive fireworks display, I have to submit my nomination of Tipton, PA as the official "4th Of July Central!" The locals in this town send up a wild display of fireworks before Delgrosso's Park's main event each year.

I have a friend whose parents live in Tipton and within walking distance of Delgrosso's Park. Each year, we arrive early at this friend's parents' house to down a few brews and eat some grilled burgers before heading to Delgrosso's park for the big fireworks display. This year, the locals' fireworks displays were so wild and incredible, Delgrosso's fireworks display was almost anticlimactic in comparison! One neighbor was sending up so many big fireworks, we speculated that the guy's fireworks budget might have matched or exceeded Delgrosso's! The whole town goes apes**t sending up fireworks, you've gotta see it to believe it!

The fireworks were awesome. We were there also last night and saw fireworks in every direction. The best part of the whole display was the tribute to Tom Riley, when they spelled out TOM with red fireworks. Other than the fireworks the whole place was very still and in aww.
Put your big girl panties on and deal with it!!

I live on a backroad between Bellwood and Tipton... at midnight, there were private fireworks going off that would rival Delgrosso's. Literally thousands of $$$ worth. I can barely afford combustibles like gasoline... no bunkerbusters for me. Plus I like my neighbors, and don't feel like I have the right to annoy them so they'll pay attention to me.----->JMS

I celebrated the 4th at Lakemont Park this year for the first time in quite a few years. I thought the fireworks were pretty good but the real kudos go out to "Fat Vinny And The Wiseguys" & "Square One" for the great music that they provided.
BTW Vinny, who came up with that arrangement of "Folsom Prison Blues"?
That rocked!

Sadly I wasn't even in the US on the 4th.. I was on vacation with our neighbors up North.

Our fireworks probably weren't as good (only lasted 16 minutes and were shot from the Canadian side) but they were alright.
