Harsh words from Jack Bruce. Later he semi-recanted and said he was just having a "bit of fun with the press".

Yea I saw that as well.
There's alot of this stuff going on in Rock actually.
I distinctly remember :
Ronnie James talking about Vivian Campbell.
Ozzy talking about Ronnie James.
Michael Bruce talking about Alice Cooper.
Jake E. Lee talking about Ozzy and Sharon.
The infamous Axl Rose/Vince Neil cat fight of 'yore.
etc....
....like sands through the hour glass.

Here's a listing from the VH1 thing (this site was better than VH1's). There's loads of material here.metalchurch wrote:Hahaha yea I remember that one too!
This shit is funny ain't it?
Just think most of this was before reality shows and whatnot!
There's loads of material here!
Didn't VH1 do a show based on something like this one time?

I remember that one. Good times, indeed. From what I can recall, Zakk was all butthurt that Dave wrote some songs for Ozzy's album at the time. Zakk was ranting about how Dave couldn't play a Randy Rhoades solo. I couldn't help but think: A). John Hiatt isn't a great guitarist, but he's written a lot of popular songs for different artists B). Zakk probably couldn't play the drum part to a Nirvana song, so what's his point?Gallowglass wrote:One of my personal favorites was the Zakk Wylde/ Dave Grohl thing. Dave really never said much about it, but I think Zakk really wanted to kick his ass for awhile.
There's nothing like a good rock 'n roll feud though.

"If I ever run into Dave Grohl, I'm gonna kick his fuckin' ass, because I think he sucks, and he wrote this cheese-dick song for Ozzy that I have to fuckin' play on, and I'll never forgive him for that. Foo Fighters is a fuckin' candy-ass girl band, but you've got that motherfucker submitting songs, too. I mean, none of these guys could play a Randy Rhoads solo if they tried. Dave Grohl? Fuck Dave Grohl! Let him get up there and play Mr. Crowley; he can't fuckin' do it! and it's like, you're getting this guy to write songs for Ozzy? Just because he played drums for fucking Shitvana?" - Zakk Wylde, 2001
...makes me chuckle.

Whoa. Some Wylde vitriol. Well, he's prolly right...but...um'...ya....like...Grohl's a drummer...Gallowglass wrote:Dave Grohl? Fuck Dave Grohl! Let him get up there and play Mr. Crowley; he can't fuckin' do it!.
I, uh...kind'a have my doubts Zakky can play a pan flute like Zamfir...then agaiin, WHO
CAN?! AM I RIGHT, EH?
Sorry. I just spend a lot of money on something I shouldn't have...and it's not beer or
a gang of hookers...I'm a little disgusted with myself.

Hmmmm... that really leaves open a lot of possibilities. I'm going to guess that midgets, chickens, rope, Crisco, and a rubber thong are involved.
If being able to play Mr. Crowley qualifies you as a great songwriter, there should be a lot more great songs coming out of Guitar Centers nationwide. Or from my home studio, for that matter. But that ain't happening.Zakk Wylde wrote:Let him get up there and play Mr. Crowley; he can't fuckin' do it! and it's like, you're getting this guy to write songs for Ozzy?

Because I don't care for Zakk Wylde?
No, I have never been in a band because my musical tastes are different than most people's and I choose to stick to my roots, not for my lack of talent, I assure you that.
If I were living in a different area, there would surely be more people into the same stuff as me.
Everyone knows I joke around on here alot, and I never once put any player down for their talent. (Maybe Yoko)
I repsect all musician's talent, I just sometimes dont care for the whole picture.
No matter how good someone is, there's ALWAYS someone better, so I keep that in the back of my mind 24/7.
Zakk could tear me up no doubt, and I never said I was better or that he sucked, but if he's going to put somone down for writing songs for Ozzy, which is actually Zakk's job to do, hell yea I'm gonna critize him.
Why aren't you in a band sir? Are you a poser?

The short time I spent checking out bands in your "local" music scene....Fuck it, I'll just say this. Stay local. With the exception of Sanchez and Daze, most of you fuckin suck. Smoke on that you fucking posers. Glad I moved AND didn't start a band around Retartoona, place is junkie's and wannabee's.
Don't worry I won't be on this fucking "Rock" page again, I can assure you that. One thing I will agree with Jake Williams on, most of you are dicks.
