Song Suggestions need for Mother-Groom wedding dance song

The bride of a wedding we booked has ask our help in selecting a song for a Mother of the Groom and Groom dance Any suggestions? Slow song country or classic would be nice.. Thanks I know I can count on you all for suggestions.. Deb

When I DJ'ed weddings through the '90s, I used this selection as my "this-would-be-a-great-song-to-use-if-you-don't-have-something-else-in-mind" song for the mother-groom dance.

Most people would say, "That's perfect."

Either that one or "Mother" by Danzig.

Sometimes the most obvious choice is the hardest one to make. Definitely Trace, "Simple Man" fo' sho'! I had "I Hope You Dance" on my brain due to my sister and I hearing, singing along to and discussing it recently during a short roadtrip. My sis can have "I Hope You Dance" for her Godmother/Aunt dance with my son (if he ever does marry his girlfriend).

I always loved Skynyrd's song "Simple Man" because it's the mother talking to her son about how to live his life the best he can. And it's a classic. I love it when my brother Paul Parrish sings it. (usually with Felix)
