Rendell Increases Effort Against Assault Weapons

Post by fullthrottle666 »

On local news today.

He says there's no reason to allow these weapons.

He's been increasing his efforts against these weapons since three Pittsburgh police officers were shot and killed by a man with an assault rifle on April 11th, 2009.

i have to agree with him. there is no good reason to allow ownership of semi-auto assault weapons. who needs that kind of fire-power?

let's rally with him to ban these please.

well, i personally would enjoy the thought of owning many fully and semi-auto assault weapons, along with anti-tank and anti-personnel missiles and a large stockpile of ammunition.

you may ask yourself why.

my response?

zombies. when the hoard attacks, you better have supplies!!

This calls from some Weird Al!

Got an AK-47
Well you know it makes me feel all right
Got an Uzi by my pillow
Helps me sleep a little better at night
There's no feeling any greater
Than to shoot first and ask questions later
Now I'm trigger happy, trigger happy every day
Trigger happy every day

Well, you can't take my guns away
I got a constitutional right
Yeah, I gotta be ready
If the Commies attack us tonight
I'll blow their brains out with my Smith and Wesson
That oughta teach 'em all a darn good lesson
Now I'm trigger happy, trigger happy every day
Trigger happy every day

Oh yeah, I'm trigger, trigger happy
Yes, I'm trigger, trigger happy
Oh, baby I'm trigger, trigger happy
Yes, I'm trigger, trigger happy
Oh, I'm so trigger, trigger happy
Yes, I'm trigger, trigger happy
Better watch out, punk
Or I'm gonna have to blow you away

Oh, I accidentally shot Daddy
Last night in the den - Shot Daddy in the den
I mistook him in the dark
For a drug-crazed Nazi again - Drug-crazed Nazi again
Now why'd you have to get so mad
It was just a lousy flesh wound, Dad
You know, I'm trigger happy, trigger happy every day
Trigger happy every day

Oh, I still haven't figured out
The safety on my rifle yet
Bop doo wop shoo wop wop doo wop
Little Fluffy took a round
Better take him to the vet
Bop doo wop shoo wop wop doo wop
I filled that kitty cat so full of lead
We'll have to use him for a pencil instead
Well, I'm trigger happy, trigger happy every day
Trigger happy every day

Come on and grab your ammo
What have you got to lose
We'll get all liquored up
And shoot at anything that moves

Got a brand new semi-automatic
Weapon with a laser sight
Shoot to kill now, shoot to kill
Oh, I'm prayin' somebody
Tries to break in here tonight
Shoot to kill now, shoot to kill
I always keep a Magnum in my trunk
You better ask yourself, do you feel lucky, punk
Because I'm trigger happy, trigger happy every day
Trigger happy every day

Watch out or I'll blow you away
Better watch out, punk
Or I'm gonna have to blow you away

Yea, there is no need for people to have assault rifles, they are intended to kill humans. Hand guns and rifles are fine, they are used for recreation and hunting. I mean, you wouldn't want anyone packing a hand grenade or a bazooka would you? Fuck no, keep the military weapons where they should be, but don't take away the guns from the good old folk.

Its like this, If someone wants to go apeshit and kill people, they can do it with anything.Take away all the guns in the world and there will still be mentals stabbing people, blowing things up, flying jets into buildings, etc, etc, etc.A semi auto Hunting Rifle is the Same as most Semi Auto assault rifles.A semi auto handgun is just as deadly (maybe not as accurate) but still. We dont need more Gov.Telling us what we can and cant have.Making any of the above illegal does not mean criminals wont still have them or be able to get them.It just means law abiding citizens wont.Thats My Opinion.

Hey, I know. Lets ban cars that go faster than the speed limit.

There were 1468 PA traffic fatalities in 2007. Fast cars MUST be the culprit, since they go faster, right? RIGHT? RIGHT?

There were 723 PA murders in 2007 (not all with guns.) Less than half the rate of traffic fatalities. Obviously, fast cars are twice as big a problem as guns, RIGHT? RIGHT? RIGHT?

That's the sort of convoluted logic I would expect from today's "enlightened" (ROFLMAO) citizen.

Dd you ever wonder how many of those murders were committed with assault weapons? I'd bet single digits. Of those, how many were committed by somebody with legal ownership of the assault weapon? I'd bet zero or close to it. I'd love to see the statistics, but alas, there are none that I can find. Apparently, the use of assault weapons isn't even enough to garner the statisticians' attention.

Now, everybody put on your thinking cap (it might hurt a little if you haven't used it in awhile.) Feelgood legislation doesn't do a damn thing to solve problems. Banning assault weapons is a joke and doesn't do anything but keep law abiding citizens from being as well armed as criminals.

Eff Rendell.

If the world goes to shit one day, I don't want to be stuck with a .22 when everyone else has bigger weapons.

You can't stop a criminal from getting them anyways, so what does it matter?

They are trying to bring up the Columbine School shooting again. Those 2 wackos broke 19 gun laws when they went berzerk. If only there had been one more gun law. Those 2 would have stopped in their tracks and said, wow, we are now violating 20 laws. We better stop.

what's it matter? politicians don't care about the facts. they just want people's votes. well, let's make something everyone gets illegally illegaller and that will stop it. criminals always get guns. pot heads always find weed. heroin addicts always seem to find heroin. during alcohol prohibition, somehow people still found booze.

the bottom line? law abiding citizens are more vulnerable, and crooks, liars, rapists and thieves have the upper hand. thanks governor rendell.

Here are stats..

http://www.showmasters.us/Firearms%20Us ... enders.pdf

It's like 0.5% of Assault Rifles used and like 0.7% were bought at gun shows.. But Rendell wants us all to feel safe tonight if he closes the supposed "Gun Show Loophole" C'mon gimme a break....

Why do I need assault rifles? The same reason I need 2 Marshall 100 Watt stacks... To annoy the shit outta the neighbors...

But on a serious note..... I just got my tax refund and have about $2900.00 to spend... any one know of any good gun shows coming up this weekend? I know the big national one is in DC but is there one closer to here?

I'd like to have a nice selestion of M4A3's to look at and I'd also prefer to get one with a supressor already installed.... as for how many rounds the mag holds I don't care Mr Rendell... I'll buy 100 round drums mags so I can load on Sunday and shoot all week!!!!...

But seriously.... gun shows around here that are cool????

I'm very conservative. I'm a believer in the constitution that says we have the right to bear arms. However, there is no need for these semi-automatics in our homes. But, I don't know that banning them is the way to go. This is one issue that is hard for me to pick a side on...I have had a chance to shoot one of these weapons and I have to say, it was pretty cool. But there was no need for it.

Are you serious?

Someone breaks into my house at 4:00AM and THAT's WHEN you want me to "load, powder, prime" some flintlock rifle from the 1700's? Only to have one shot which may or may not fire!?!? haha....
I hope at least you let me keep my bayonet so I have a chance to stab him in the toe so he thinks twice before breaking into MY house again... :D

Wasn't this ban already in effect from 1994 to 2004?
I think that the lawmakers are trying to reinstate that same ban... as useless as it was. Cop killings with assault rifles did go down during that time period though... instead they were shot with handguns.
... and then the wheel fell off.
