Don Trullender R.I.P.

Post by Jim Price »

Don Trullender, one of the founding members of the Fabulous Flashbacks, passed away on Sunday morning. He was 75.

One of the mainstays of the Flashbacks, Don retired from the group last year.

A full obituary will appear in Wednesday's Altoona Mirror.

Here is a picture of Don from 2005, as he performed with the Flashbacks during the Altoona First Festival at Lakemont Park.

Our condolences to family and friends, what a great guy. Don surprised us one day at Moondogs and came up and played sax. He will be missed.

Don, and some of the other Flashbacks, came to see The Conniptions a few months ago and Don and I got to talk. He was a very nice guy. The area has lost a longtime great musician. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.

Didn't know him personally but have a ton of respect for someone that stayed with it(the music scene) to the age of 74,that's dedication! R.I.P. Don

Don was one of the good guys. I have come to know Don over the past 5 years, and he was first and foremost a true gentleman; always upbeat and positive. I will have a lasting memory of Don's powerful baritone voice and his true passion for the old rock and roll music. It was an honor and a privilege to know and work with Don.

One of the good guys

Don was one of the good guys on the local music scene, or rather, one of the best. I first met Don when he was with the Exotics. I had the pleasure of playing bass at a private party with the band one night a LOOOONG time ago, and it was one of my favorite times ever. Also had fun working with the Flashbacks at the Spring Dam weekends for a few years. Top musical talent, and one of the best guys I ever knew.
I love it when a plan comes together.
