I have done business with you several times and never found that to be the case. I thought that it was fun to go to your place and check out all the gear. I also found it fun to just hang out. I have always been happy with our transactions and will continue to come over when I have something to trade.

I think that people are just nasty and maybe someone is jealous of what you do. People can be mean and unfair.

I would ask for other testimonies on here about people who have had good experiences with you..

Good lusk Bob!

I'm not sure exactly what the matter at hand is this time, as this certainly isn't new news to you Mongo. What I can offer is this to the forum members: The members of this community spend their hard earned money on various instruments and sometimes decide they would like to try something new and rather than dumping more money into a hobby would rather barter or "trade" for other gear. Most of the people on here already are aware that Mr. Mullan has a pretty vast inventory in his own personal collection ranging from low end to somewhat professional equipment typically in the guitar realm. I can honestly say that Bob is a heck of a nice guy and I would gladly recommend him to somebody just starting out looking to buy a cheap start up setup. However, on the flip of this I have had very mixed experiences on the trading front where my gear was grossly undervalued. My solution? Just take your business elsewhere if you're looking to get what the "fair" trade value is. If you've got cash in hand, check it out. If you're looking to trade, definitely check your other options before striking a deal (craigslist, other classifieds, other forums, etc.)

Bob is a good dude, not a crook at all! Max and I have done some business with him over the years and he is completely on the level and is more than fair...he's also a really nice guy on top of it all.

So in the very earily 1980's I played with a "Country Western" guy from Westover Pa. named "Terry Crook". We played all kinds of venues like the Wheeling Jamboree, Ponderosa Park, the War Memoral and the like and backed up Country stars like Marty Robbins etc.

So when I saw this post, I thought Terry was back in town.

My mistake but, if anybody knows anything about the whearabouts of Terry Crook, send me a PM.

I also worked with Terry. Great guy and a fine performer as well. I would also like to reconnect. But more to the matter at hand; I have dealt with Bob several times. Always a gentleman. If you do not like the deal that Bob offers it is your right and maybe responsibility to respectfully decline. If you accept the proposed terms it is not reasonable to latter lament the short comings of the transaction and slander a decent person's good name.
Bob, to you I say this; if you treat people with decency and respect, which in my experience you do, then give no concern to what others may think or say. We will deal again I'm sure!

People say bad things about other people all day, every day. nothing new.

Anyone who says Bob is a crook is just being an asshole. Once when Suzy and I drove out to his place to check out a piece of gear, something happened (I forget what) and the deal didn't go through. Bob felt bad that we had driven to Tipton from Altoona for nothing and insisted on giving us five bucks for gas! I thought that was amazingly nice of him. And when he sold me my 5150, which I love and adore, he really went out of his way to give me a deal I could afford. Doesn't sound like "crook" behavior to me. I think Bob should be winning awards for customer service.

Their are some very kind comments received and I thank you all for them. I try to have the best prices and best trades. I Certainly try to beat any offer on a trade from music stores who have to make a living at it. So far this is a moonlight job that i enjoy. I really love meeting musicians for the first time that can broaden my knowledge and visa versa. I strive to have you leave my junked up music room with a smile on your face weather we make a deal of not. I realize musicians are not usually wealthy. I told my mom when i was young that i wanted to be a guitarist when i grow up. She said "You can,t do both son"

I thought of Terry as well. He was a pretty cool dude. I wonder also what he is doing now?

As for Bob, he is an awesome guy. Probably one of the nicest I have ever met.
