Wing Off's at Lakemont?

Post by Jim Price »

I noticed on Lakemont Park's website that they are listing the Wing-Off's as happening there this year, Thursdays from July 10 through August 14. After rains and PLCB shenanigans disrupted and hurt attendance at last year's Wing-Off's, it was up in the air over whether or not Lakemont would continue to host them this summer.

Is anybody officially booked to play at this year's Wing-Off's? I just want to verify if Lakemont is indeed going ahead with them this year, or just listed them on the website per their usual event listings every year.

Someone told me that the wing offs were starting today? I'm guessing that was not true.

This really doesn't mean anything, but my good friend Matt Hunter and his dad's(Bill Hunter? some of you might know of them) band played a wing off 2 years ago.

Matt also wore a Napalm Death t-shirt while playing in front of families. Just one of many good points this dude has under his belt.

You guys think Mama Corn would go over at a Wing-Off? Probably not, I think. Too bad, it'd be a blast.----->JMS

Actually I think Mama Corn would probably be a refreshing change for the
Wing Off, And I belive more people would be receptive to your music than you think. Hey, It's kinda like my Mama used to say, "How do you know you don't like it if you don't try it?" :)

I remember when Ten Sent Wings used to play there.
Hurricanes,Half Tempted, The Marauders all play there too.

Other than that it's pretty lame.
There was this one Country band that was really good though.

hell yeah. i remember when ten sent wings played towards us kids at the wingoff because they had that "no under 21" thing. that meant the world to us...

hopefully the marauders don't get shafted and play a non-alcohol wingoff this summer...i was bummed last year when that happened.
