My gf's uncle wants to convert 3 albums and some old tapes to disc. Hes computer literate; but I dont know how much.
I want to burn something (the exe files) to disc to give to him for xmas along with some other computer stuff I bought him but I dont know which one to give him. Everything I have or use is too sophisticated for him for what he hopes to accomplish. His PC is on the fritz, so I can envision him doing this on the MAC laptop he owns. I cant see him buying a soundcard or a waves program to eliminate the vinyl pops; if u catch my drift. Soundforge or Wavelab since they are not free arent possibilities, and Im not buying them for him to make 6 cd's. He wants to do these himself, or I would have done them already.
parameters:
must be free
easy to use
available for mac (laptop) and pc (sorry I dont know which platforms but lets assume XP and the equivalent on the mac)
nothing cracked or illegal
Audacity? I dont like that program; but Ive never used a Mac. I actually have an extra cubase LE I could give him but if hes running a mac he might have a tough time setting up the drivers since Cubase LE doesnt really have good support.....
please make suggestions
Need some help to fig out which program to use
